
Fire danger is the probability of a fire to start, the rate of spread and intensity of its burn. Awareness of the following fire danger rating levels will help decrease wildfire ignitions.

Public Hearing and Special Meeting on
Monday, June 27 @ 5:30pm
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Article 7, Section 23(C) of the Louisiana Constitution and R.S. 47:1705(B) that a public hearing of Fire Protection District NO.8 in St. Tammany Parish will be held at its regular meeting place, located at 22455 Highway 36 Abita Springs La 70420 on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year’s maximum. The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in the next year from the increased millage is $1,483,354.82, and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $83,758.77. This is not a new tax and St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 8 shall not exceed the voter approved maximum millage rate.
